If shabby looking from the outside but the sheets and bedding and towels are spotless well worth a stay if you don't mind the carpark lookin a bit tired ?hylands paddy
Room just need to sort TV and romote and bath plug all apart that for 50 for night stay the room clean beds nice and clean and fresh stuff towels and tvs coffee refreshments in the room people moan they not that much problem if they problem the manger and stuff go above and beyond its way talking to people and treating people anything I needed the staff so nice polite.
I'm writing this review on behalf of a friend who was housed here by the council. I feel having read some of the other reviews that they don't accurately reflect the experience she had. It is a budget 3 star hotel, not the Ritz. I found all the staff to be pleasant, helpful and attentive. The hotel is used as temporary accommodation by Coventry Council. This means that some guests may have experienced homelessness or have other issues. None of the guests caused an issue or bothered my friend during her stay, nor did she feel unsafe as a lone female. The room itself was the same layout as a premier Inn. As you open the door you have Bathroom to left, window in front of you 2 beds one double and one single with a dressing table comprising TV and tea making facilities. The room decor was dated and had signs of wear but was clean. The bathroom had a cracked tile but again was clean and perfectly functional. Other reviews state that the rooms and corridors smelt of cigarette smoke, I didn't experience this at all during my stay. People were smoking outside but not in the hotel. To summarise - If you are looking for a budget hotel, conveniently located, with ample free parking, tired but clean decor then this fits the bill. If you have been offered accommodation here by the council and have read the reviews from 2 years ago and are expecting a doss house then you may be pleasantly surprised. If you are booking this and go around the hotel pretending to be Alex Pollizi then I'm sure you could make a list of things that could be improved.
Not the greatest of hotels, but the location and value for money makes it 4 stars for me. Staff were friendly, room was big, the room didn’t look the tidiest but mostly due to the old fashioned decor, otherwise good hotel.
Ime in a room well maintained by cleaners sheets and pillow cases spotless well worth a stay?paddy just be aware of mobile polish man he trys to get hold of ya money by sayin korin has rang to see if your room has been paid (korin didint)?paddy
I had a great stay at the Hylands Hotel . The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is really convenient just a few minutes from Coventry Station.
Actually very friendly and helpful staff. Great mattress and god sleep couldn't ask or more. Don't listen to this bad reviews it's not true, id definitely stay again anytime. Parking ample but register at reception
Comfy bed and clean room. This place needs alot of money spent on it to be all it can be and if it did it would be a great hotel. Its fine if your a workman looking for digs but definitely not a family hotel as its quite run down and unkept. My advice to the owner would be to pay for proper cleaners and tradesmen to do it up then charge higher rate to attract a better clientel. It's clearly been maintained by someone who has no knowledge of DIY. Some of the diy features are quite amusing. I would stay here again but I wouldn't let my mother stay by herself.
